I’m striding on a colorful journey for my upcoming bday. All geared up for this challenging yet fun filled trip! Game on!

Luckily I did my eyelash extensions and in a way I still look quite alive? Lol
Quest: #mtijen
Hard or not? It’s was definitely not a walk in the park, for me, it was harder than #bukhansan . Cos you need endurance, stamina, strength, courage and determination.
You hv to wear winter hike outfits, I got mine from #columbia , a head torch, hike stick if needed and also at least 2 litters of water too. I also brought my #uewonderboom Bluetooth speaker for the hike!
Started the hike at 2am, the hike was very steep. I was much slower than my friends but the guide we had was very encouraging. When I needed to stop and I look up the sky to grasp some air, I saw a breath taking view of stars! The starry night was full of bright lighted stars! My camera couldn’t take any of it tho~
There were also ‘taxi’ (3 ‘drivers’ to a push cart) to pull up hikers who gave up. They were wearing slippers and it’s really hard work, not to mention dangerous.
I finally reached the top and was ready to go into the crater. The surge of sulphuric gas was quite overwhelming and we had to don on gas mask to get into the crater to look at the blue light.
Blue light is somewhat like the northern lights, cos u might not see it afterall! I’m glad I made it and saw the blue light.
My baskets are empty, but in actual fact the miners carries 70-80kg of sulphur every day 4 times up and down the volcano to change for money. Not forgetting they have no gas mask, breathing in toxic sulphuric gas everyday. 1kg for 1000 rupiah, it’s hard earn money. They wear slippers, some wet market boots and thin clothes, they also made souvenirs out of sulphuric to sell to tourist like myself. I got one shape like a crab for 20000 rupiah.
After watching the sunrise, enjoyed e scenery, slowly made my way down to the foot of the volcano. Coming up was all dark and only the stars accompanied me. Going down, the magnificent landscape took me away.
Yes! I conquered #mtijen ! Which is quite a big deal for me! Most importantly, I didn’t give up.
I wanted to share (how hard and amazing) about my hike experience with my primary school bestie and Sheila who hiked #mtrinjani only to know that theirs, was e bomb! I wanna challenge myself to #mtrinjani soon but definitely when I have a better physic!
